Dei Gloriam
A Community Rooted
in Ignatian Spirituality
The parish of St. Ignatius de Loyola stands as a living witness to the Jesuit tradition of contemplation in action — a faith community that prays deeply and serves generously. From our Sunday Masses to our outreach ministries, every dimension of parish life is shaped by the conviction that God can be found in all things.
We serve the broader community of Gen. Luna and its surrounding barangays, welcoming families, the elderly, the youth, and those who seek a spiritual home where they are known, loved, and accompanied in their journey of faith.

Parish History
From humble beginnings to a thriving faith community — the story of God's faithfulness written through the lives of our people.
Parish Founded
St. Ignatius de Loyola Parish was canonically established in Gen. Luna, Quezon, as the Catholic community in the area grew and deepened its commitment to regular sacramental life and pastoral care.
First Church Building
The first permanent church structure was built through the collective sacrifice and generosity of parishioners, providing a dedicated sacred space for the celebration of the Eucharist and sacraments.
Expansion of Ministries
Parish life flourished as Basic Ecclesial Communities were established, catechetical programs expanded, and lay ministries began serving the broader needs of the community and surrounding barangays.
Church Renovation & Blessing
The church building underwent significant renovation and was solemnly blessed, renewing the sacred space as a fitting home for the worship and prayer of the parish community.
Outreach & Social Action
The Caritas and Social Action Ministry was formally organized, leading feeding programs, medical missions, and care for the most vulnerable members of the community in the Ignatian spirit of service.
A Living Community of Faith
St. Ignatius de Loyola Parish continues its mission with renewed energy — a growing community of disciples, ministers, and families united in their desire to know, love, and serve God and neighbor.
St. Ignatius de Loyola
1491 — 1556 | Feast Day: July 31
Soldier, Pilgrim, Saint
Born Íñigo López de Loyola in 1491 in the Basque region of Spain, St. Ignatius was a Spanish knight whose life was forever transformed during his recovery from a severe cannon-ball wound at the Battle of Pamplona in 1521. Confined to bed and able only to read whatever books were available, he found himself profoundly moved by the lives of Christ and the saints — and left cold by his former dreams of military glory.
His conversion was not a single dramatic moment but a gradual discernment — what he would later call the movement of spirits within the soul. He retired to the cave at Manresa, Spain, where in intense prayer and penance he received the mystical illuminations that would form the basis of his Spiritual Exercises.
"Teach us, good Lord, to serve Thee as Thou deservest;
to give and not to count the cost."
The Ignatian Legacy
The Spiritual Exercises
A 30-day programme of meditations, prayers, and contemplations that remains one of the most influential works of spiritual direction in the history of the Church, guiding millions to encounter the living God.
Society of Jesus
In 1540, Pope Paul III approved the founding of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), which Ignatius led as first Superior General. The Jesuits became renowned for education, missionary work, and intellectual engagement with the world.
Finding God in All Things
Perhaps the most characteristic Ignatian conviction: that the sacred is not confined to church or chapel but can be encountered in every person, every event, and every dimension of daily life — Deus in omnibus.
Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam
"For the greater glory of God" — the Jesuit motto that transformed every act of service, study, and prayer into an offering. It remains the driving force behind every ministry at St. Ignatius de Loyola Parish.

Core Values
These six values are not merely aspirations — they are the living characteristics of our parish community, expressed daily in how we worship, serve, and love.
Faith
We place our trust in the living God and in the truth of the Gospel, allowing our faith to animate every decision, ministry, and relationship in parish life.
Service
Inspired by the Ignatian ideal of contemplatives in action, we serve the community — especially the poor and vulnerable — as a concrete expression of our love for God.
Community
We believe that no one journeys alone. In our Basic Ecclesial Communities and parish gatherings, we accompany each other through every season of life.
Prayer
Rooted in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, we cultivate an interior life of prayer that fuels our action and grounds our discernment in God's will.
Compassion
We look upon every person with the eyes of Christ — with mercy, dignity, and a preferential love for those who suffer, mirroring the compassionate heart of our Saviour.
Stewardship
We care responsibly for the gifts God has entrusted to us — our time, talent, treasure, and parish community — offering them back in gratitude and generosity.
